Well Boonville has lost another one from their Public Works Dept. I guess now the Mayor and Commissioners will have to pick up trash since only one person in that department has a valid drivers license. So, PILE THAT TRASH HIGH BOONVILLE AND SIT BACK AND ENJOY THE SHOW!!!!!!!!! That's like 7 people who have quit or been fired in 8 months. What does that tell you about the group running the show there.

According to J.M. (commissioner) everything is going great,but if thats the truth why is everyone leaving.One was fired the rest have quit. They are running out of employees of course they have offered the Public Works Director job to a couple of guys and they turned them down. I guess they are going to clean house for that position before they start. The only thing the Mayor can to is walk around like he is mayor of New York City and Bonnie just pouts and throws a fit if she don't get her way. Mr. Mayor, the town has less than 1200 residents, it's not that impreesive to hold your title.

Gardner is one of the main ones that got this mess started. He was a trouble maker and thought he could run over anyone he wanted to. I guess that backfired when a 60 year old whipped that "A". Paininthea, Gardner's attorney had it postponed again.

citizen concerned, Let's see, when he resigned the town agreed to pay him 6 months salary plus pay him for the month he was suspened. Then they agreed to not fight his unemployment so he gets almost 2 years of free ride there. I guess my thoughts is what kind of idiot would even think of getting him back after what it cost them to get rid of him.

boonvillegossip, whipped his "a" I heard he was sitting in the town truck and that 60 yr old sneaked up behind him. and your right painintheA, you don't pay a person to leave unless the town was in the wrong, that's when most people have to pay. when there wrong. from what I hear most folks like the ole boy he was fair maybe that's what some couldn't stand?

First, he was not sitting in his truck and Driver does not sneak up behind noone to bust their mouth. Aparrently you don't know him very well if you believe that is what happened. Gardner had Bonnie and Tony talking to the attorney and the attorney suggested they offer a severence package for him to leave and then seal all the documents that related to it. The other commissioners didn't have the balls to stand up and say this is not right and we are no going to stand for it. They even paid him out before the money was approved in public meeting. These commissioners are out of control and don't have a clue how to run a town. Back to the Gardner thing, he had been told in public meeting to stay off all of Drivers property and went anyway so who was wrong. As far as how l;ong he was gone before the others quit, I guess my question is what does that have to do with anything. They have lost employees that were with the town for 25 plus years and key employees at that.

LOL! gossip sounds like your a fan of wrong doings! id put my money on the 30 something than the other one. why was gardner told not to go on drive property? he worked for the town and im sure he had some sorta job to do for them, and because someone stays at their job for 25 plus years doesn't mean they do a GOOD job! one of those works just about run town out of water the other week doing such a good job!

gossip, Ive lived in this town for years and have always been told not to cross the car dealer. I heard that the real reason gardner was told by the board not to go on drivers property was that his pond was drying up and gardner was to blame. maybe they should have put that water in the tanks and not in the pond! but you know how gossip starts?

Almost forgot to tell you, he was not gone a year when they started quiting. The fincnace officer quit only about a month after Gardner left...Get your facts straight if you want to talk to me please.

but he was already Gone so why did anyone leave if he was the problem! the problem was gone! and the board didnt pay her the finance officer to leave she quit on her on, like most of the others! get your facts right your talking out of both sides of your mouth! Apparently trying to take up for folks that have done a guy wrong! if nothing else the towns sidewalks looked better when gardner was in town! i say bring him back and get rid of the last three that got voted on and the one that was appointed to that board! Tony and Bonnie good luck with what you have to work with! Oh yeah gossip if you know so much about boonville then you should know we need a better water source than what we got and I don't hear anything in the works about that!

The people running the town does not care about what happens to the town as long as they feel like they have power. They are like every elected official they think with the wrong end. The town does not look like they have a grant for anything because it looks like a dryed up town. As long as people like Bonnie are running the town nothing will be done to make it better. The people on the board is to old or not interested to help this town. EB has passed Boonville as far as progress and the town continue to go down. As far as the town finance officer quitting she did quit but ms bonnie and her shadow on the board did not like her and made it very clear that her days was numbered.

I don't understand how you think that ms bonnie is doing anything for the town when she thinks she is better than anyone else in town. Why does this town look worse than it ever did if she has a grant to clean this town up than she don't need anyone else because everything has already approved. The reason you think that she is doing more is because she is the loudest and wants to be top dog. Everyone one needs to be replaced at the election time and put younger people that have a vision in their place.

jlg, I know this! I sat at board-meetings and she has the NCstep program Im part of that are you? Whats the others done? Tonys apart of that same program, the ex mayor was always there and even the ex public works director! your kinda like bgossip want to complain with words but show NO actions of help! As far as younger goes and vision good luck that, vision cost money lord know we cant do that in this town! Mrs. Lasky is one vote it takes three! plus I read the paper I see her and her husband doing a lot of volunteer work, that says something about them I don't see the others on that board doing much!

Boonville has 2 good things going for them right now. 1st is that Missy has left the town of Boonville ( hate it for the Town of Elkin though ) 2nd Robert is gone! Now if he would just move, Boonville could be on the road to recovery! "Ah" I guess we should welcome the ole boy, I don't think he could pay somebody to say they like him.

Crop grower you must have smoked way to much of your crop! You do have to be state certified in water and waste water. Have you got those certifications? I'd so not! If so you may want to apply for his old job. State regs. say anyone supplying potable (that's drinking water) water to the community has to have one. Boonville is in need of someone with those! Im not sure what you had against the young man, maybe he wouldn't give you water either! I like honesty and you don't find that on this site! Im sure he (Robert) hates that he bought a home in this town, especially the way they treaded him! oh thats right we paid him to leave! wouldn't you have taken the money? I'll ansewer that for all that complain about it, yes you would!

I have come to one conclusion reading about my hometown. Jealousy the place is full of it! Where it be we paid someone to leave there job, or they may have had a relationship with someone. It all comes don't to jealousy. What a wasted emotion!

If you have to be state certified to have this job who is state certified for the last year. This shows me that you could save that money because you have gotten by for a year without one.

1st I haven't and wouldn't want to be a CERTIFIED sh*t stirr'r..... Now that we got that out of the way. I am happy for anyone that want's to get a certificate in evaluating water and Sh*t. My reply to the above responses was that not only did we pay Mr. Gardner to examine water and waste we paid him to stirr in it...... You would have to win the lottery to make me jealous.... I surely don't see anything or anyone that Mr. Gardner has done that makes me jealous.

I'm not sure how is certified for the town. Someone is signing off for the town. Call 336-771-5000 in the morning and see for yourself. That's DENR they will educate you grower and jlg. One question what has Mr Gardner or this Missy lady done to either or you two? Please fill us the town in! The truth will set you free!

Well, I guess I am a sh** stirr'r but I didn't mean to. I was just stating things that I know for a fact and it is all public record (except the cover up with Gardner) and anyone at anytime according to the State of NC can get it. I a was not stating any here say what so ever. I just think the people of Boonville have a right to know how the commissioners are spending their money in wasteful ways. It's pretty bad when a man comes from several states away and then turns the job down because of the bs he sees as an outsider.

I just have something to say: I regret everyday helping Scott, Janet, and Gerald get on the board. I thought that they were going to get things in a lot better shape than what they were in..but I guess I was fooled. Everyone of them is a joke especially Bonnie..they let here do whatever she wants and they all including scott follow her around like a lost puppy. citizen concerned why are you taking up for them so good...look at where your tax dollars are going to. I live in the city limits and it bothers me that they pay someone to leave when (behind closed doors he was fired) He got a big severence package plus now drawing unemployment for being stupid..this makes no sense to me. People needs to go to the board meetings to speak there mind but wait it will do no good because what mama (bonnie) wants mama gets. I heard today that they all were meeting at the town hall..was this announced to the public before having a meeting? You are suppose to advertise it before you do that. I also heard that the water bills were screwed up this go around and that the town workers were reading the meters for the THRID time this month...what a joke. I tell you one thing I hope this board enjoyes wasting tax dollars and showing there ignorance because BILL, TONY and MAMA (Bonnie)time will be up next year and none of them will be back on the board.

Bonnie and Tony and Harvey tried to do the right thing for the town go read the minutes of the past board meetings( prior to Scott as mayor). You are right about Janet, Gerald and Bill (who was appointed) and Scott all seem to have agendas for one. This is a good town poorly ran by few. Say what you want, Mr Gardner was fair. Ask any of his past employees one on one, like I have and you will see for youself. There are good folks in this town with wives, husbands, kids, jobs and family who care about this town and just have a life and not the time. Some find this funny that the board messed with a man who has a life and a livelyhood and must provide for his family! To some this is a joke, to others its their lives! We need to move on and make this town a better place, not one that is laughed upon!

So because he acted in a professional way or did every time I spoke with him that means he did a bad job? Come to what i said earlier JELOUSY!
