Brown Truck with Red light on top Speeding « Return to Topics
Sillystring Posted 9:10, 07/17/2010
Does anybody know who the guy is that drives a Brown Ford Truck with a big redlight on the roof is in East Bend? That idiot needs to slow down. He is going to kill somebody. Jesus! I was at the gas station a week or so ago and the fire department must have had a call and that guy went out spinning tires and then slammed on his brakes at the stoplight. The Firetruck didn't go out like that or anybody else that I saw that night. Has anybody else noticed this? Please if you know him. Tell him to slow the F888 down! Is this how the fire department runs calls in their vehicles? I would think this is breaking the law!!!! Three times I have noticed this guy. My daughter and I pulled over one day after he passed us on a double line running everybit of 75 on Union Hill Road. I was scared to death. Please!!! If you read this. Slow down, you are going to get killed or kill someone you idiot.

willieebpd500 Posted 9:52, 07/17/2010
his name is will he allways drives like this even if he dont have a fire call and you are right no one else in the fire dep drives like that there spose to drive fast with out risk of recking or even hitting someone every fire except for will goes lite 40 to 45 down main st and wills going like 80 down main st he is going to hit someone one day coming threw town like that

Sillystring Posted 10:2, 07/17/2010
Well, It is rediculous! Why is this allowed? Are you in the Fire Department? I have never really payed attention until this guy! Stupid, just stupid!!!! Who do we complain to? Do you know?

Heelsfan Posted 10:18, 07/17/2010
I agree. I have noticed that guy to. If I see red lights I pull over because it is law. I can say that they pass by cautiously. Never been passed by him that I know of, but have seen him flying at high rates of speed through town and down 67. With and without lights on. P.S. Those lights look stupid oon top of that old truck. LMBO

Heelsfan Posted 10:22, 07/17/2010
We should sneek up on that truck if we can catch it and take the light bulbs out. He looks like the kind of guy that would take all day trying to figure out why the lights weren't working. LOL!!!!!!

Sillystring Posted 11:42, 07/17/2010
Heelsfan you are funny. This is serious though. Why does the local law not pull this guy over? I mean if it is that obvious. Hello?

asaault Posted 12:32, 07/17/2010

sillystring Posted 14:7, 07/17/2010
First Assualt - Learn to spell, Second of all - I read it the first time you said it. You are not funny. Do you not see this guy? I get it. You are probably him or one of his friends. Please tell him to slow down. If my family or child is injured because of someone like him. It will get ugly!! This is irresponsible. Do you know what that means?

heelsfan Posted 7:56, 07/19/2010
It's funny when folks with a 3rd grade edu-ma-cation get on here and try to make funny jokes. Maybe you would complain to local law and the fire department. If that doesn't work or they ignore the issue. Maybe a county official.

timebomb Posted 14:29, 07/19/2010
You all are so funny, I just hope you never need the fire dept or the first responders to your house, because then you will appreciate our volunteers. Someone in this hicktown has got to do a job instead of just running off at the mouth.

LittleBoyBlue Posted 18:10, 07/19/2010
Well timebomb I have needed them and I have had real good results from them when I did. I think this particular young man is drawing a little too much attention to himself with his speeding and that not your fault.
I got shot the finger by an EMS worker awhile back I didnt think much of that I can tell you. So professionalism goes a long long way you cant deny that!!

ccrider Posted 20:41, 07/19/2010
timebomb, I hate to burst your bubble, but on any given fire in Yadkin County you will see the house burn down and especially mobile homes. One thing they do is keep the fire from getting spread to the woods or fields, however the owner has lost his house.

fiesta pantalones Posted 22:12, 07/19/2010
timebomb -

I have been a volunteer fire fighter in Yadkin County. We didn't show our asses in responses to fires or first responder calls. In fact after you have showed up to a few wrecks as a first responder, you learn quickly the results of acting like a fool, red lights or not.

If I see a guy with red lights on acting like a fool, I may hold him up on purpose. I know first hand the adreniline rush that comes when your pager goes off. If you can't control it, maybe someone else can control it for you. It is for the good of the entire county.

Good post fiesta!

i don't see how holding someone up on purpose is helping anyone. just makes more road rage. i know first hand how dangerous that can be and was lucky to live to tell about it. it's not worth it just get out of the way as safely as possible. if you can get a description of the vehicle and tag number then file a claim with the police.

civilservant1 Posted 6:16, 07/21/2010
Well as a fireman in Yadkin County I would say you need to file a written complaint with the chief of the fire department. That will give the chief some ground to stand on and talk to this young man. I too know of the adrenaline rush from the pager going off and all the radio traffic. After allowing the chief time to speak to this young man if you see him acting up again you need to call the police and file a complaint

Ten8 Posted 15:26, 07/21/2010
CCRider Mobile homes are only given about 5 to 8 mins before they are fully consumed. So you are kind of correct, but if there is chance to save something we do not just stand and watch it burn. As for exposures, you are correct we will always focus on exposures. Our ultimate goal is that Life safety is preserved, then property. Mobile homes are extremely difficult because the older they are, the less time we have. Please don't feel that I am trying to be an ass. Just stating the facts. I bet Civilservant1 will agree.

YFZ450#729 Posted 0:16, 07/27/2010
No not all of the fire dept. medical responder's fly like will does but they do fly.. Only reason bein for this is soo they can get there and take care of you the best way they can. Yes will drive's fast everywhere he goes but when the light's are goin you need to move out of the way because he is goin to help someone in need, you never know if might be someone you know or even a family member. Soo dont be dissen him when he has his light's on and speedin he's going to help someone hurt and in need.

painintheA Posted 6:3, 07/27/2010
where can I get me one of those red lights ?..I am kinda heavy on the right foot at times maybe this will help me out with the cops at ticket time,, an get me around those red stop lights too..

dijafo Posted 9:10, 07/27/2010
A serious note here, if a volunteer rescue or fire personel in the state of NC is speeding 10 mph beyond posted speed limit, responding to a call, with lights or no lights can get a speeding ticket and/or charged with wreckless driving.

skype Posted 16:13, 07/27/2010
Where's those EB Cops when you need them???

dijafo Posted 16:18, 07/27/2010
At the donut hole....?

walks the talk Posted 1:13, 07/28/2010
(How many cops does east bend have?)

YFZ450#729 Posted 1:13, 07/28/2010
dijafo: Really? I mean what cop is literally gonna pull over a medical responder on a way to a call.. The way the get there and tha timen they do determines weither or not if the person lives or dies.. that's not alway's the case but it can be determined who get's there first and help's the patient

dijafo Posted 12:31, 07/28/2010
If a volunteer responds in there your own vehicle, the traffic laws applies as if you were not in any county rescue. I know of a volunteer fire/rescue personel that was speeding more than a safe speed, got a wreckless driving ticket while responding to a structure fire. I have seen responders try to pass another vehicle at a crown of a hill and actually run a car off the road.

fiesta pantalones Posted 18:45, 07/28/2010
YFZ - They ought to. Again I have been a volunteer fire fighter and first responder. I understand the adrenaline rush that comes when the pager goes off. Let's face some real facts here though. Most of the time you are less than 15 miles from the scene. Let's say that you also travel 25 miles an hour over the speed limit. You would get to the scene about 30 seconds or less faster. You would also endanger everyone you meet during your 15 minute drive.

Don't try to say that 30 seconds could be the difference in life or death. It is far, far, far more likely that you would kill someone on the drive over than someone will die over that 30 seconds or less. I know because I have never saw anyone die 30 seconds before help arrived, but I have seen plenty either die or nearly die because someone was driving like a fool, red lights or not.

There really is no arguement here.

dijafo Posted 20:55, 07/28/2010
Glad someone steped up to the plate and knocked a homerun!

sillystring Posted 12:15, 07/29/2010
I have done some research and the responders are to follow the law wether or not they are responding. If it is 55 it is 55. The firetrucks must stop at all redlights, blow the horn, and proceed through. Not personal vehichles. I do think that seconds count. My problem is when someone endangers their or others lives to get to call that they are trying to be the first person there. I was in a curve when passed on a double yellow. I would have pulled over, but he came out of nowhere. It is rediculous. How can you help anyone if you don't make it. This moron needs something done!

Williedean Posted 12:28, 07/29/2010
My son was run off of the road and nose dived into a ditch by a Yadkin County Rescue squad vehicle that passed on a double yellow line in a 35 mile an hour zone. No siren. The jerk did not even come back to see how badly he was injured. His car had to pulled from the ditch as his back tires were in the air. As far as I know nothing was ever said to the offending macho driver for the rescue squad.

civilservant1 Posted 19:41, 07/29/2010
Williedean did you call the chief at the rescue squad? Did you bother to write up a complaint and take it to the chief? Where did this happen and when did it happen? Can you or your son describe the truck that ran him off the road?

sillystring Posted 13:16, 07/31/2010
Are you sure it was a Rescue squad guy or was it the guy in the Brown Ford Truck in East Bend Fire Dept.? I have been asking around and did find out his name was Will Hayes. I also found out he was at Fall Creek, but he was basically pushed out. Why is it that a person would jepordize the reputation of a good organization? I know the people that are at east bend work hard at helping do fund raisers all the time and truely are in my eyes as I learn more about them a real group of caring individuals who are willing to go do things that I could not imagine. Just doesn't make sense that he can get away with this. I think I am going to file a complaint, but really have no proof otherwise. That's why I was hoping this would help keep people safe and maybe avoid death, injury, and lawsuits.

up

YFZ450#729 Posted 3:57, 08/02/2010
Alright yes the law say's that but what cop in Yadkin County is gonna pull over a fire truck or a medical responder's car or truck with red light's in it goin to a call?. Sillystring: Yes will is in the East Bend Fire Dept., and he was also in Fall Creek at the same time, Will was not pushed out or kicked out or anything he just turned his stuff in because he never ran any call's with Fall Creek since he had moved to EB, and he didnt want to be holden on to Fall Creek's gear for no reason so he turned it in.

Williedean Posted 16:17, 08/02/2010
the guy was driving on of the squad's crash trucks. It happened on Lee ave between the fcx and the stoplight. This was about 8 years ago.
