Double Elimination, Is it really fair « Return to Topics
boonvillemom Posted 22:23, 03/04/2010
Where is the fairness in a team that is eliminated once, then wins and makes the championship game end up getting 1st when the team that didn't lose at all get second???? How is that fair??
And what is up with score keepers that PLAY WITH THEIR PHONES DURING THE GAME AND NOT PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT IS GOING ON!!!!!

mawmawbecky Posted 7:47, 03/05/2010
boonvillemom is correct!!! When you have two teams and the first team beats the second team and hasn't lost a game then is beat by the team that they beat first, they both have only lost one game so how can the other team win when they were beat first!!! This is the most dishonest thing and I'm apalled that the officals would allow this unfair practice to go!!!!

I totally agree with you as well. When you lose you LOSE. To me that's pretty dang basic. I didn't see a second chance in the presidential race, did you? It's a total outrage at these kind of behaviors that have changed our youth today. I gotta say, Yadkinville lived up to the reputation of being a nasty town. Take that as you want.

The officials would not have anything to do with this.Just be thankful that your child made it to the championship game.Parents should be happy if your child is healthy and can play ball without complaining all the time.People let kids have fun it is not all about winning.

allears Posted 17:2, 03/05/2010
Ok Miss Sandy, nobody said anything about the refs, they said the officials so that means whoever set the rules. Secondly, if my child wasn't healthy enough to play in the regular games he'd be playing somewhere like the special olympics or something. And it's all about playing FAIR, not playing different rules from year to year.

InTheMiddle Posted 18:31, 03/05/2010
This was not double elimination. Another game should have been played to determine the winner

Ms or Mr allears when has life been all fair boo hoo boo hoo.Baseball season is coming so suck it up what are you going to cry about then.Officials, bad calls, pms, bad coach get a life our kids are probably not going to play pro ball.

Your school's basketball directors agreed on this type of tournament. Contact them. Let them know that you weren't happy to give children more games to play.

allears Posted 17:21, 03/06/2010
When you play by the rules it's called playing fair. duh! I could care less about baseball season, your gimp kid can have that game. I'm sure you'll be out there questioning calls and telling all the other parents not to voice an opinion because they need to always suck it up and let people walk all over you because this is life, not a fair life, but life.

Allears are you a Cass or a Shore. We sat at all games and keep our mouth shut try that it works. All refs and officials are going to make bad calls they are human. And to say something about the special olympics shows your maturity.

allears Posted 18:45, 03/07/2010
I am neither, and thank you for the compliment!!
