Is anyone else tired of paying for other people to have kids. I am so sick of young girls getting pregnant over and over and over again and have no intentions on supporting them. Why have 5 kids if you can't support them financially? I know that situations arise and one make have to go on Medicaid for a while. But it is not a lifestyle!!!! What will happen when all of us working people die out? Who will pay for the babies then? I think that the government needs to step in and consider unelective sterilization for those that choose to have baby after baby on the medicaid system.
You may think that is radical but I am sick of supporting people who are able to work but won't.

Yes and the girls/women that get that welfare check and go on shopping sprees and then the grandparents are stuck supporting the children and the grandchildren.

Unfortunately you are addressing a real problem. It seems it mostly the uneducated that tend to breed like rabbits. As much as we might not like the idea of goverment intervention something needs to be done. I dont think people should be able to reproduce until they are ready or happily married and setup for it. Why bring children into stark poverty just for us to have to support. When people start abusing the freedoms we have then freedom starts becoming optional and it shouldnt. Knocked up teenagers is something that shouldnt happen in this day and age.

Forced sterilization has happened before in the US and it was wrong. I will offer up a very reasonable option (in my opinion) though. You only receive welfare payments on up to 3 children. If you choose to have 10 kids, you only can receive welfare payments on 3 (or 2 or 1 or whatever number).

I certainly would not support forced sterilizations but: I hope we have reached or are close to reaching a point where we can turn off the reproductive process because we choose to and then just as easily reenact it when we are ready. Its something that shouldnt cost someone an arm and a leg either because it a benefit to society as a whole to not have hordes of ill bred kids running around to make waves of ill raised criminals for us to have to take care of in prison.

Newday, my generation was taught about overpopulation so as a result, the people who were paying attention and cared enough to not overpopulate decided not to have 10 kids. Meanwhile, the sorry people kept on breeding.
That is the whole problem with our society today. The sorry, lazy, and stupid have come to outnumber the productive members.

I'm younger than boomers but older than gen-x. We had the crap scared out of us that the world would implode due to overpopulation within the next 50 or 100 years. We did our best to save the planet. Too bad the others did not.

BACK YEARS AGO PEOPLE REPRODUCED TO SURVIVE!THEY HAD FARMS NEEDING TO BE WORKED!SO THEY HAD HUGE FAMILIES AND THEY WORKED THE FARMS! A LOT OF THOSE FAMILIES DIDN'T COME ABOUT FROM THE WANTING OF THE CHILDREN TO LOVE AND RAISE...BUT OF GETTING THEM OLD ENOUGH TO HELP WORK FARMS AND SUCH.BUT SINCE NORTH CAROLINA HAS ALMOST DONE AWAY WITH FARMING AS A WAY OF LIFE......THERE ISN'T ANY REASON TO SOME TO HAVE LARGE FAMILIES.
