I know there was another topic on this, but I couldnt find it. I read this in the WSJ today.
FLAT ROCK Two men face deportation after they were arrested in the theft of more than 500 railroad spikes from train tracks still in use in western North Carolina.
The men were charged in connection with the spikes from train tracks near Flat Rock.
Police say they found 37-year-old Cruz Mario Carnacion and 35-year-old Jose Luis Trejo-Yanez with more than 500 7-inch steel spikes, which can be sold for scrap.
Henderson County Sheriff Rick Davis says the missing spikes could have caused a derailment.
The men are charged with conspiracy to damage railroad property, willful injury to railroad property and trespassing on railroad property. They're being held on Immigration and Customs Enforcement orders pending deportation proceedings.
Oh yea, we cant do anything about illegal immigration here can we?

Cletus We can arrest illegal's only when they commit a crime and are taken to jail, traffic or criminal. Once at the jail a check is made on the suspect and then its up to the feds if they want the person held for deportation. The chances of that is about 33% of the time. The Feds set the standards.

Yes, that is my understanding, so that would mean we would have 33% less criminal illegals now if this was the standard practice right? So, if each year we could show a 33% decline of criminal illegal aliens, that would be a huge amount of criminals, and illegals over time that we have deported from Yadkin County right?

That amounts to about 3 to 5 a year. How many are coming to Yadkin County a year? So are we stemming the tide or treading water? I think the Feds need to step up and do their part or the States take back their rights and handle our own immigration problems.

I will agree whole heartedly about the states taking back their rights, and the Federal Goverment taking more aggressive steps to curb this growing problem. But, if 33% of criminal illegals arrested in Yadkin County is 3-5 people, that would mean that in the entire county, and town police departments only arrest from 9-15 criminal illegals each year? I know that number is not correct. There are many more than 15 illegals arrested for crime in Yadkin County each year. Until the states take their rights back, or delcare sovereignty we should do our part to help our county be criminal illegal alien free. We cant wait for someone to do this for us.

I was in line at Food Lion a few months ago, behind a Mexican lady with a buggy full of groceries and 2 screaming kids and obviously one on the way. Cashier gave her the total.....she paid with her food stamps/EBT card....and was 5 cents short. She then proceeded to turn to me and ask me for 5 cents. I said lady, I have already paid for those groceries in your buggy one time. I was furious....it was just the principal of the whole matter. I agree with all the above posts, this is getting ridicilous.

Calm down there JD..lol. Maybe she should have put something back instead? I have many times when I come up short on the check out line. Sometimes when you go in with only $20.00 in your pocket, and add items in your head, you miss it by a few cents. There have been many times that I put an item back just because I am afraid I wont have enough money with me, and to save me the embarassment.

The Wall Street Journal (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304604204575182721466632104.html) reports, "Arizona lawmakers on Tuesday passed one of the toughest pieces of immigration-enforcement legislation in the country, which would make it a violation of state law to be in the U.S. without proper documentation. It would also grant police the power to stop and verify the immigration status of anyone they suspect of being illegal."
Go, Arizona!

When I go to Food Lion it makes me feel like I am in ole Mexico! We need ICE in Yadkin County. How about the 4 Mexicans robbing the pawn shop in Yadkinville? I feel it may get worse as the economy continues to fall, so get out your gun oil up & load up and get ready to protect your property.
