I can tell you with 100% fact that this information was given to our camp by the victim that was suppossed to be 100% accurate. This was and is a Doug Groce Supporter. This man never met Royall to the very day of the allegations the victim made against Cain. If this is fact, then the so called victim lied to Royall, his supporters, and the whole community. If this report is fact, we sincerely appologize for any false statements. When someone looks you in the eye, and tells you something normally you have no reason to doubt it. If this was truly a lie, we feel that it was because of the fact that this mans friend, Doug Groce lost the election, and he couldnt deal with in a mature manner. I am sure Mike Cain has numerous phone calls recorded from this man. Have Mike Cain tell the whole story about this mans phone calls, and when they started, which was way before this man and Royall ever met. No one in Royalls camp knowingly lied period.

ms. cloudman i want to say that this article is not "reporting" its "railroading" and you know it. you know exactly who alleged this search by mike cain. have you once approached this man for his side of the story? no, you have not. you have only told other people connected to him to go on record. these other people were not there the night the search suppossed to happen. they only know what they were told by the alleged victim of this mike cain search. how can someone clear themselves of anything? i am sure john gotti would have liked to have the opportunity to clear himself of any crime to, would he not? this was a very careless article written without any real investigation on your part. i can assure you that you have lost a lot of readers you had after this printing. if you were a true reporter instead of a railroader, you would have went to the alleged victim yourself long ago. simply writing something hoping to get a bang out of it, or for recognition as a reporter, without a real investigation simply is in bad form. with this type of so called "reporting" god help us all! i feel sure the truth will come out one way or the other. if the truth is mike cain did do this, we'll find out. if the truth is mike cain did not do this, we'll find out. if the alleged victim is a liar that may be will be exposed one way or the other. unfortunatly leanne the "reporter" to cover the truth behind this story should be a "real reporter" and it looks like it will not be you.

The citizens of Yadkin County can now see who the liars really are!! And just how gullable you and the Royall "camp" really are! Nothing ever has to be the truth for you people. All you need is a big old fat lie to start a big old juicy rumor and as long as it is about Sheriff Cain, you could care less if it is true or not. So go back and read over your posting on "voter intimidation", and the citizens of Yadkin County and Sheriff Cain will be waiting for your apologies! The next time you hear a juicy rumor, you might want to check into it a little closer first, especially if it comes from Mr. "W", and you know who I'm talking about....or do you??

Let me just say this......the Royall "camp" did not start this. The information came straight from the victim. I still believe that "something" happened. Cain should clean up his own backyard about a "smear campaign" before he trys to clean up someone elses. Cain is "trying" to come out smelling like a rose......but we know better than that. If I personally find out that this is not fact and not a political move and not through a "reporter" where Cain can say anything he wants....then I'll apologize. But not at this time. I believe Cain stating that he had nothing to do with Matthews filing the challenge against Royall about as much as I do the above "investigation". Just my opinion and I will apologize if and when it is necessary, but not until I do my own investigation. Thank you.

John Deere: It's a LIE!!! It's a proven lie! But you're bias and hatred for Sheriff Cain will not allow you to accept anything good about Sheriff Cain. The man who told this story has admitted that he lied. It's as simple as that. And ya'll continuing to tell this story, makes you as big of a liar as he is. Your second point, you keep ranting about David Matthews filing this complaint about Jeff's residency, but the last time I checked, David Matthews IS a resident of Yadkin County, DOES pay taxes here, and is ENTITLED to question Jeff's qualifications to run for Sheriff, when Jeff himself has admitted to living outside of this county. The hair splitting comes in the fact that he did or did not live in the county for one full year prior to the election, so let the people do their jobs and we'll find out the truth on this issue as well! I've seen things said on here about Donna Terrell being related to Jack Shore, and saying that Jack Shore owes Sheriff Cain a favor. I know all of these people, and in my dealings with them, they have very good character and will do just what the law says. They will not cheat for Sheriff Cain no more than they will cheat for Jeff Royall, but some of you just can't avoid this character assassination on people when you don't even know who these people are. So, John Deere, I'm going to do something I don't normally, and don't like to do, but if you cannot admit that this was a lie and just move on, then I'm going to have to call you an idiot!! But you still have time to redeem yourself. A simple little posting from you or Cletus, saying "Sheriff Cain, I apologize", will restore my faith in you two. Maybe.

Leanne, I ask you - where is the recording from Thursday night when this happened? Don't you think it is way too convenient for a recording to have been made on Tuesday with a victim and a witness that nicely clears all this up?? Give me a friggin break. Mike Cain thought the "victim" would not tell anyone which is why he sent Hamby and Ball back on Tuesday to get this recording. Investigated himself? That is like telling the fox to watch the damn henhouse. The SBI tells the local sheriff's deputy if he finds something to let them know? Do you not see anything wrong with this picture????? If you don't, take off the blinders. I am sure that every person in the US that has ever been charged with anything would like to do their own investigation and exonerate themselves don't you think? As for the "wire" did Hamby and Ball tell the "victim" and the "witness" they were being recorded? I do not believe they did. They may say they did but I don't believe it.
The "victim" was a Groce supporter, Groce has refused to support Royall, has stated to several people that he is now going to support Cain after he talked all that $#!+ about him while he was campaigning. What are reasons the "victim" made these accusations and then retracted them? We all know the answer to that question - INTIMIDATION, INTIMIDATION, INTIMIDATION!!!!!!

How can there be an illegal search if the so called victim let them in willingly - nothing illegal about that right? How is that breaking the law?
Complaint I have that Cain said is that "allegations he contends are false, that have been made against him by supporters of Jeff Royall, unaffiliated candidate for Sheriff". Is he saying that since I am a Royall supporter I have been spreading lies about him? Oh no that just doesn't set well in my book. He just grouped ALL Royall supporters as LIARS. He is doing his own mudslinging right there saying that I and all of you are liars. I pray for him.
Boy yadkinview is gonna get famous from that article but I'm sure this isn't the only place where gossip and solving world problems occur. You also have McDonald's and Debbie's Snack Bar (Welborn's).

All I have to say is you, "the victim" as you have been labeled by this reporter need to do the right thing and set the record straight. I am sure you did not make up this big of a lie and tell it so why would you lie about it happening is the real question that needs to be answered. What would the repercussions to you, this pitiful "victim" have been had you admitted with a signed statement that this event happened? What repercussions did you avoid by saying this NEVER HAPPENED????? Miss reporter, I ask you - have you been privy to the phone calls that the sheriff's dept have received since this "victim" incident happened? That is what you really need to hear. Course considering your source for information, they probably have been deleted by this time.

The Federal Government (FBI)investigates civil rights violations right?
So why would any claim of Civil Rights violations be investigated by local law enforcement, especially the ones that are being accussed?
If they really wanted a real investigation, Sheriff Mike Cain should have called the FBI in the beginning before he did anything at all.
He could have asked the FBI to do a full investigation to clear him, and not rely on his own office for a fair investigation.
I am not saying anything happened or not, its just my observation outside looking in.

I do know that Eric Ball met face to face with this so called "victim" and asked him why he lied about this search. There was no response, other than it didn't happen. Eric met Jeff Royall at the courthouse and told him that this incident never happened. Ther are some good people that work at the Sheriff's Office, and they don't deserve to be lied about.

Old#9 nicknamed Royall Elmer Fudd and I did think that name was comical too. I am not going to disclose my name on here because its not needed. One day if I think it is necessary, I'll consider it. I think you should request that of everyone instead of directing that question at me. If you want everyone to go to Facebook and have the same discussion that would be the only fair way for anyone to say anything.

Again, consider the source(s). Any REAL investigation would have come from outside the YCSO.

As much as I dislike the way this report was titled, this is not about Leanne Cloudman. This interview shows the poor state of affairs that the county is in politically. We seem to be more concerned ( myself included at times) about sex, lies, and videotape. We are so easily lead to address issues that are not important, and it causes us to lose sight of what the goal really is. Personally, I think seeing Mike Cain talking about "Green Bean" thefts shows where we are, and how backward we are thought of by others that live in, and out of our county. I would really like NOT to be viewed by others as a bunch of backwoods, redneck, ignorant hicks where our leaders grade thier success on a variety of cowboy hats, belt buckles, and dead snakes around the neck. People everywhere used to make West Virgina jokes, unfortunately now the jokes are on us here in Yadkin County.

Overall, from what I've encountered of Mr. Royall he seems like a nice man. However, when I see people on this website who seem to be "in his camp" ("his" being Mr. Royall) talk negative about the opposition behind screen names, it doesn't win votes in my book.
Yes, I guess those who support Mr. Royall could argue that those who support the current sheriff may do the same thing as far as spreading gossip and rumors, however, it's still trash talking as far as I'm concearned.

Joseph, people that disagree, and outspoken have become targets in some fashion or another. If you ask around enough, you will see some this first hand all across the county. I guarantee you that you have already been looked into yourself. They have took in upon themself to know where you live, what you drive, and who your realitives are, where you work, and everything already. If you learn something, and try to do the right thing, and post it on here to make people aware, you will become a target in some fashion. If you dont believe me, try it. So, most people will not disclose who they are for that reason.

I think a lot of us on here care about what goes on in our county. I think Ive never seen one place where avarice and greed run so rampant in my entire life.
Yadkin County has become an economic wasteland. I know of very few that are able to earn a decent living within its borders and that is truly sad.
Local merchants go out of business here all the time because there are no jobs here much to support them. If you work in heating and air, electical, do odd jobs, wash cars, mow grass, bag groceries or work for the county or the schools or a local restaurant or the hospital your job might be fairly secure. We need some good jobs here and things will straighten on out.
It was hard to get the politicians of old to do anything that had foresight involved in it. So now our tax base has all but disappeared. We cant agree on anything around here so we mess around arguing to the point that we spend 800k on talking about building a jail. How many years did we talk about a watershed? How many years did we talk about pulling water out of the Yadkin? Why didnt we do all of this when it was cheap? There is your answer. Sometimes it just doesnt make any sense to care. Youre better off trying to take care of your part of the county and leave these yokels alone. They will pay back your kindness and honesty when they stab you in the back. They would rather you not have anything either because they dont and they dont think that is right.
Living here is okay, probably not a good idea trying to work here, people get to know your business and then youre in trouble. Yes I care as well but cant do but so much at some point you have to take care of yourself.

Folks, please keep in mind, I report what those who will go on record provide to me. I report what I am given proof of. I am NOT, I repeat NOT taking sides in this.
The only thing I will apologize for is that I assumed those being interviewed were notified the interviews were being recorded. I have been informed they were not and a retraction has been posted on my page notifying of my misinformation.

Also, when I post here….you all know who I am. So go ahead and throw your rocks and threaten me in your phone calls from blocked numbers. I’ve been honest enough to ask my questions as myself, most of you are obviously not willing to do that as I have had no response, outside of Jeff Royall himself, to requests for information regarding the allegations by opponents of Sheriff Cain.
I have already paid dearly for trying to provide as much information as I can. I ask myself every day if what I am doing is worth what it costs me. For those who think I am in competition with Andy, I’m not. We both have a job to do and we do it as each of us deems is necessary or in my case as I have time to do.
I am trying to provide information as it is provided to me. Whether you believe it or not, is as always - up to each of you. I do not consider myself part of the mainstream media and hope never to be, considering that reputation. When I don’t report on something it is for one of three reasons. I haven’t had time, I don’t have enough information or I’m working on it and it will be provided as soon as I’m relatively satisfied with the article.
I have learned over many years in journalism that there are those that can be shown the truth who will never believe it. I may not understand that type of individual, but I accept that they do exist.
I will again extend the offer to listen, as I have in the past numerous times to those who posted on this site saying someone’s home had been searched or a voter intimidated. I am willing to quote anyone who will go on record. I will write about it, if someone gives me proof or goes on record. It’s that simple. Pay attention to quotation marks. Those words are not mine. It is then up to public opinion whether those statements are believed or not.
For those who do not know me, I do not live in Yadkin County, I do not vote in Yadkin County, so I do not have a dog in this fight. My job is to provide information. Period. The mudslinging policies of each political camp are their own and believe it, I suffer as much or more because of them.

Thank you for the well worded reponse.
The issue is that so much crap is posted on this website it is hard to tell fact from fiction. Added the fact that people tend to spill whatever garbage from their mouth (calling people names) when they don't have to be accountable for their words.
I sincerely don't think you'll find any quote of mine talking trash about a person on this website, other than those who speak ill will of others and hide behind a name.

Leanne, you were setup by Mike Cain. I am assuming that you were played a tape is where your article and why your article was written.
I believe this tape was played for you to get this info out there to corraborate there was no search. This was the reason for their recording the second visit in the first place. Of course there was no tape of the first visit - no tape, no search warrant, no proof and then you have a tape made on the second visit with the "victim" saying nothing happened. The real questions are why the second visit happened? Why was it taped? Why would the victim lie about the first visit? What did the victim's lawyer tell him to do after the first visit? Where are the taped phone calls from the victim to the sheriff's office for the last 2 months? What does Doug Groce "really" know about all this? The timing of this thing - why after Groce got beat and the victim was a Royall supporter? Why not before?
That tape that you heard actually proves nothing. More importantly it does not tell any of the why's that I have posed. Tapes can be altered - deleted or added to. This tape release was Cain's effort to discredit the Groce supporters that are now supporting Royall. Same thing with David Matthews' challenge that Cain had him do. That is just one more thing to hurt Royall. Same thing with that stupid complaint to try to take his certification. Just one more thing to try to hurt Royall. The terror that Royall strikes in Mike Cain is just unbelievable. Maybe that's the only question we need the answer to - WHY??

Great post Grams. Royall is the ONLY person that I have ever seen Cain be openly afraid of and it is very obvious. He needs to be using all this energy and time catching the thieves that have been robbing people all over the county as opposed to being consumed with Royall and what he is doing.

I kave lost all respect for Leanne and her blog over this mess. Now when youvisit her site all you get is a notice that the Harvest Festival is looking for vendors.
It's a shame, she had the potetial to give the county a clear report of the happenings in Yadkin.
