mike cain thinks the citizens of this county are a bunch of idiots that believe everything he says. mike cain is lying through his teeth, if he wanted to face royall head on like he says, he would have told matthews not to file the challenge. if cain had nothing to do with it, why did cain, widener, and matthews meet with the attorney donna terrell today at the sheriffs department about around noon? they all were plotting the attack thats why. cain is right in the middle of it just like everything else thats happened recently that he knows nothing about. not to mention all of them working this political mess on county time, while being paid by the county. but wait, i bet the time sheets will have a few hours marked off for today during this meeting right? what disapoints most of us, is that danny widener was right in the middle of it.

Is the hearing public? If so, can we all go and show support for Royall to let the BOE know that we want Royall on the ballot? If it is open to the public.....we should show our support for him and be there. Just my opinion.

And another thing.....if my "boss" said he wanted a fair election man to man and let the people decide.....who am I to go over his head and file a challenge. Total BS Cain, we know better.

If Widner was/is involved it is sad that he has fell into the mix!
Cain is scared, and should be. The paper says the he wants to face him man to man and let the people decide. If that where true then he would have his puppet Matthews to retract is ludicrous challenge!
If/when Royall wins. I pray that he cleans house of a few good men turn corrupt by Cain's train of thought and management.
It is time for " The good 'ol boy regime" to end, because it is getting Yadkin County nowhere fast.

Yes, its open to the public. As Royall said in the paper, the law and the facts are just that. Its not like Royall was not expecting this from Cain, so I think he is prepared.

Donna Shore Terrell is from one of the strongest and most influential Democrat families in Yadkin. Cain is Republican. Does this mean that Terrell is considered to be one of the best attorneys in the area?

No! It means her uncle is Jack Shore. He is the one she will be appealing to. Talk about a conflict of interest. There is something wrong here Im telling you! She should have not agreed to do this but I guess there is no such thing as a code of ethics governing lawyers.
Thats ok just one more thing to try and stack the deck! One more thing that makes for an easier appeal. One more thing on top of one more thing on top of one more thing. Does it ever end?

Won't this be settled if the Royall guy can prove he lives in Yadkin county? If it's the law what difference does it make who brought it to everyone's attention? If he doesn't live in the county and got elected wouldn't that make him dishonest from day one?

Cain's words regarding the complaint: “I chose not to do it because I chose to take him straight on in November. I had talked about it and thought about it, but I just decided let the people say, if that’s what they want."
If that is so, then FIRE Matthews if he doesn't withdraw his complaint!

How dare David Matthews making Cain take a chance on not having anyone to run against him in November! Cain, you should really be ticked at Matthews for trying to take that away from you. Especially after you held your challenge meeting, and told everyone you didnt want to do it, and wanted a head-up, one on one election!

cletus, what he SAYS he said and what he REALLY said are 2 totally different things. Matthews did not do this on his own. There are too many risks in losing his job. Read the county employee handbook. He shoud have been fired the day he filed this challenge according to the employee rules. Cain may be an elected official but NOBODY in his department is. DAVID MATTHEWS YOU ARE A COUNTY EMPLOYEE PAID BY THE TAXPAYERS IN THIS COUNTY AND YOU HAVE BROKEN THE RULES!! MIKE CAIN THINKS HE IS ABOVE THE LAW BUT YOU CERTAINLY AREN'T.

If you ask me...Cain is going to an old fashioned shootout in November with a CAPGUN AND KNOWS IT! Royall has everything this town needs to actually turn things around! Not to mention get some decent people working on the force! I think Cain is shakin in his old stinking cowboy boots and is scrambling for a way to beat the unbeatable! Sorry Cain....Yadkin is tired of a Sheriff who does nothing for them.....has been for years. Time for you to go...ride of into the sunset you washed up ole cowboy!

Jeff Royall, if you happen to read this before the hearing tomorrow, keep your head held high. The only thing you have done is enter a political race for the office of Sheriff. There is no shame in that. If you need to be uplifted tomorrow, look to the Lord.
And also, imagine Cain in his assless chaps dancing in the streets of Chicago....

John Deere I tried to post the page on here but I could not make it work. In the employee handbook on page 3 & 4 under the heading: Political Parties it says: ** No employee shall engage in any political activity while on duty or within any period of time during which they are expected to render services for which they receive compensation from the Copunty; **Be required as a duty of their office or employment or as a condition for employment promotion or tenure of office to contribute funds for political or partisan purposes; **Solicit or act as custodian of funds for political purposes while on duty as an employee of the County; **Coerce or compel contributions for political or partisan purposes from any other employee of the governmental unit; **Use county funds, supplies or equipment of the governmental unit for partisan or political purposes or **Use their official authority to influence for the purpose of interfering with or affecting the result of an election or nomination for political office.
You have read on this website and I have heard David say that he was on call 24 hours a day. It has been said by more than one person that he filed this challenge during the day while he was working, came back to his office and gave the others a copy of the challenge which should be a violation of the first rule. This challenge also violates the last rule.

So I've been accused of being David Matthews here on Yadkinview? I just want to say, I don't like Matthews at all. He is the biggest a$$wipe bootlicker there is. Yes, I don't like McCormick for his recall and I don't like Garner for his drunken antics, but this attack by Matthews on Royall makes me want to throw-up all over David.

According to Yadkinvalley news on FB Matthews has left the hearing because he has to be at a shooting tournament and his lawyer did not plan to call him as a witness. Jeff's attorney did object to him leaving the hearing says that Matthews does not want to face the board. Can anyone else smell a rat in this fisaco

All David Matthews accomplished was to put Jeff Royall in the lime light. The fact David left in the middle Of the hearing also worked in Jeffs favor. Now thanks to David most of the county knows who Jeff Royall is. Thanks David for helping out!!!!!!!! We are very thankful..

I guess Today David Matthews LEARNED That Residency and Domcile are the same.. David got hot under the collar and starting to squirm and Left.. Shooting engagement? Hope he doesn't use it on himself. He needs to be looking for a JOB I HOPE He understands.. Gun Permits are a North Carolina Permit,, Not Yadkin county permit..
What a WASTE of Time and Money. I knew in fifteen Minutes that Royalls Lawer Had it fiqured out...That was a Good 2-1 vote.

#9hole, I have a place at the beach and spend about 5 or 6 moths a year but my residence is in Yadkin County. If I decided to run for sheriff according to you, I would not be eligible. Kay Hagan lives in Washington, DC so she can not run for a second term even though she has a house in Greensboro. #9 you are only seeing daylight through the eyes of Yosemite Sam so open your eyes and suck that gut in because in November we will elect a new Sheriff in Yadkin County......!

it was a disgrace that matthews left the hearing. he and cain smacked everyone in the face by leaving. matthews and cain was the reason everyone was there in the first place. if it was not important enough to stay to hear the challenge, it was not important enough for them to file a challenge. it sure smelled a lot better in the court room when he left.

Matthews accomplished more for Royall by file his DA challenge than his supporter could do! Thanks Matthews and Cain for the master plan of getting the rest of Yadkin County to notice Royall!

why would any of you want a man in office who has been fired from every sheriffs office he has worked at? Not to mention when Royall worked for Cain he was sleeping with a dispatcher while he was MARRIED and has 3 kids at home! Just go ask his ex if you don't believe. So no not the man to run yadkin county!! So alot of you may not care for Cain but atleast his morals are where they need to be. Royall could not be trusted!!!

bravesfan, Jeff was fired from his Iredell county job ONLY thanks to that man Cain that you say has such great morals. Jeff has admitted on this forum his mistakes while working for Yadkin and chose to quit as opposed to being demoted. He left Forsyth county for a better position in Iredell county. Had you had the balls to attend the hearing regarding his certification and the BS that this man with such high morals created, you would already know this. Jeff has fooled no one and has been honest about his personal life from the beginning.
You lost yesterday, and all the hurdles that you guys have put up, Jeff has jumped them all. Anyone that was not a very strong person would have folded by this time. Please tell me what it is about Jeff that strikes such fear in Cain and his cronies? No other opponents this election have done it, and Bill Bates and Ricky Oliver did not do it in 2002 so what is it??
Cain and his cronies have tried to take his certification, have tried to intimidate his supporters, have cost him his job and took away his livelihood, and challenged his residency. AND YOU HAVE THE BALLS TO SAY CAIN HAS MORALS???
