Peace Have a cult now « Return to Topics
flicker3075 Posted 16:6, 07/11/2010
Has Peace Haven Baptist Church turned into a cult? I have a friend whose kids go there with their grandparents (Not by the parents choice) and I am amazed at the kids goodie goodie and unrealistic views. They must have to strong kool aid those people drink over there. There are members there who like to thump their chest about forgiveness and doing "the LAWDS" work, but they refuse to make amends with their own child for things in that persons past.

Any church is a collection of people. You will find people who have problems with their kids or very high opinions about themselves in any church, political group, classroom, atheists group, or any other collection of people. To expect any person to be anything more than human is unrealistic. We all have our faults.

flicer3075 the things that people do in their life is between them and their God. I go to church because I want to worhsip my Lord and Savior. I cannot base my relationship on another person's that is between them and God. If your friends children are going to this church and their parents are not in favor of it I would suggest that they start visiting churchs and find one that they can to to as a family.

Newday Posted 11:15, 07/12/2010
But dont forget we want to see your tax return or youre going to hell!!

coollittlehot Posted 11:17, 07/12/2010
My children WOULD NOT go anywhere against my will, with or without their grandparents. If they are opposed, maybe they just need to step up and be accountable for their own children.

Yoda_Joe_blie Posted 15:8, 07/12/2010
cool<--- Possibly why the grandparents are doing something with the kids. Parents are obveasly lacking something.

Nothing wrong with having a positive outlook in life. Trying to fallow some moral standards. I dont know anything about that church. Never bin. Most likely never will. Why I will refrain from commenting about hear say about the place.

Shadow Posted 15:14, 07/12/2010
How is it that grandparents bringing their grandchildren to church, make the church a cult?

And I really would like to be given one name of a person that was ask to show their tax return, or W2 to anyone at Peace Haven.

Peace Haven has a new pastor and are growing once again. People have told many lies regarding this church, and they will give an account for their lies.

If you don't want to come to Peace Haven that is your choice, but trying to tear it down is dangerous.

bassbug73 Posted 19:29, 07/12/2010
I don't go there, but you are correct in everything that you just said shadow! If it isn't the church for you... Shut up and go to one that is.

commonsense Posted 12:29, 07/13/2010
shadow, I don't think flicker3075 was trying to say that the kids going to church with thier grandparents made it a cult. They were refering to the things the children were being taught. I know a few people that go to this church and yes they have some wacked out unrealistic views and ideas about the world.

coollittlehot Posted 13:41, 07/13/2010
such as...???

commonsense Posted 16:31, 07/13/2010
Talk to one yourself and it won't take you long to see what I mean.

Shadow Posted 17:36, 07/13/2010
Well commonsense why don't you elaborate on the "wacked out unrealistic views and ideas about the world".

I have been going there for years so you give me some of our "wacked out views"

I assume you have been there and heard this yourself, surely you wouldn't be spreading hear say.

commonsense Posted 18:45, 07/13/2010
shadow, If you really go there as you claim to, then you would know for yourself what I am talking about. If you are lying and don't go there then talk to one of the people that do and you will surely know what I mean. If you are telling the truth (which I doubt since you act like You don't have a clue) be sure and give them all the money you have so they won't come after you and take it.

painintheA Posted 19:10, 07/13/2010
commonsence ....then tell the rest of us what you are talking about.Sounds like you know first hand.(not hear say, right)

coollittlehot Posted 20:16, 07/13/2010
So, in other words, you don't really have any scary stories to share with us??? You brought it up. Can't you back it up?

Shadow Posted 21:38, 07/13/2010
Another example of all the lies that are spread against Peace Haven.

I do go there! I tithe and no one has ever come after me to give more. I love my church, which is
the people that make it up. I would not sit back and let you run down my family. Neither will I sit back and let you run down my church family.

We are not perfect, and neither is any other church. We have been blessed by God from a handful of people that started in a furniture building.

I don't have to defend our church. Just look what God has done and is doing. But I get tired of all the lies.

commonsense Posted 23:5, 07/13/2010
shadow, Isn't that the church that the pedophile and peeping Tom was a revered member of. I guess you love pedophiles and wan't to stand up for him as well. You are like the rest of the money hungry hypocrites there.

Cletus Posted 23:17, 07/13/2010
Tearing down a church, shame on you!

commonsense Posted 0:7, 07/14/2010
cletus, I am not tearing down the church. I can't. A church can only be torn down from the inside. Besides we are talking about cults not churches.

white american Posted 8:11, 07/14/2010
Shadow, I was a member when they started in the furniture store. At that time they required women to wear dresses below the knee, they taught that men and women shall not swim together. Women were not supposed to wear shorts. Has their policy changed, or is this still their teaching? These are the reasons my wife and I left. To much control.

BlizzardAge Posted 8:11, 07/14/2010
I visited that church a few times many years ago (when I was still a believer) and I found it rather cultish myself.

Shadow Posted 8:44, 07/14/2010
I am not going to get into an argument with people on here that "used to be a believer", and another who don't believe that a church should have standards.

So you folks go at it, run down this church, and ever other church in the county. I refuse to do that myself.
