Didn't see it. I like Sarah Palin, but I feel she needs to stay an activist, because she is real productive and good at that. The media is scared of her and I like to see her keep them running. She is more of a threat where she is now, because she can say and criticize what she wants, without hesitation.

michelle, it's not MY term...the term "teabaggers" was coined by Fox News own Griff Jenkins, one of Bill O'reilly's producers. The geeky one who runs around with a mic ambushing people wanting "interviews" as they leave their homes or offices. Do you believe me, michelle? BTW, muichelle, have you noticed how many Yakkin' county repubs can't complete a sentence without using the word "suck" or "sucker"? Are they fantasizing?

Saw where there was division in this movement. Some members wanting to obsesses over where Obama was born while other want to concentrate on policy matters and are mad at the "extremists". Gonna be interesting to see if the divide is the death of the movement.

Actually the term was used first by the liberals when the party movement started. Janeane Garofalo was one of the first to use the term. They used the term to try and degrade the activists. Griff uses the term tonge-in-cheek. Well you have to admit Obama and Pelosi led congress are sucking money out of our pockets like a $5 hooker, and our country is going down like one too.

Most of the activist I have met with the tea party don't belong to 1 particular party. There are a lot of older citizens involved in this movement too. When Congress stopped listening to the people, they formed, expecially after the health care debacle. A lot of these people are first time activist, and want their voices heard. It is a mistake to categorize and lump all these people into the republican party, because there are quite a few independents and democrats too. Some changes are needed, like term limits, and they should receive the same health care as the people they represent. I know I am tired of the Elitist attitude the Congress puts forth. We employee them, not the other way around.

FU, you are wrong. I know here in NC it was a grassroots effort, that started well before the 9/12 project. Freedomworks supported our efforts here, after they were started. Fox News had nothing to do with it in the beginning. I know this because I am a member of Freedomworks too. Americans For Prosperity helped our efforts tremendously when we started in Feb. of last year. (I am a member of that group too)

Last night I was watching cspan and they asked for a show of hands of the folks that had never been involved previously and 75% of the people raised their hands.
I worked on the 9-12 march route in Washington and was there from 6:30 AM until 5:30 PM and spoke to hundreds of people before, during, and after the march and very very few had ever been involved in politics whatsoever, the young, the children, the old, the middle-aged, democrats, independents, and republicans. The news, Obama, and congress tried to downplay the numbers but I was there and I saw. Actually Obama flew over us in his helicopter on his way to Air Force One to go to speak in Wisconsin yet he pretended to not know we were there!!!We met with the police captain and the EMS to get numbers put into our phones before the march and we met back with them afterward. The police captain stated this was the biggest thing Washington had ever seen and they were astounded that there was not ONE incident of any kind, no arrests and no trash left anywhere except where the trash cans were overfilled. The metro was shut down 10 miles out and no one could come in. There was so many people the march started an hour early because there was no place to hold the crowd. 1100 buses were permitted for Pensylvania Ave that day. My station point was about 3 blocks from the capitol. There were 80,000 seats placed in front of the capitol and they were filled in 30 minutes. The march passed by me for over 2 hours(a 6 lane street) and then it just stopped moving. The people reached all the way to the Lincoln memorial and spilled out on both sides of the street. These were just run of the mill everyday citizens that go to work, pay their bills, raise their kids, pay their taxes and have had enough. There will be more folks voting in this election this year than any time in history - just wait and see.

Well Palin is pretty, and some of her points are good, but if she is the republican candidate for president Obama will be re-elected. Then again, maybe its time a libertarian or a 3rd party gets elected. If the choices are Obama and Palin, then as of right now I'll vote the 3rd. I would NEVER EVER EVER vote for Palin. She's not bright enough to be president. Michelle is right, she needs to remain an activist. I'm still hoping for Romney.
Regarding the speech, I watched it on msnbc just to see their reaction and it was laughable. They are just as dispicable as fox news.

Slab, I am concerned that she may run as a 3rd party candidate. If she does, Obama will get back in. I like Palin, but I don't think she would get elected. I know why she resigned as Governor, but I still think it was a huge mistake. She still has more experience than Obama ever did before he was elected. He spent his whole time as Senator running for President, just like Edwards. I do like Romney, and I feel he is very qualified, and I like where he stands on most issues.

This explains the REAL source of the term teabagging in reference to tea party supporters!
In a 14 March 2009 report on Fox News, Griff Jenkins said, "ReTeaParty.com has a headline, 'Teabag the fools in DC on Tax Day.' They want you ... to take a tea bag, put it an envelope, and mail it to the White House."
This where it turns dirty!
The double meaning of the phrase drew criticism and mockery from MSNBC's David Shuster who on April 13, accused the protesters of "going nuts for it" and "whip[ping] out the festivities"; wanting to "give President Obama a strong tongue-lashing and lick government spending."He concluded, saying that "If you are planning simultaneous teabagging all around the country, you're going to need a Dick Armey." On April 13, 14, and 15,Rachel Maddow made similar remarks. On April 14 and 15, MSNBC's Keith Olbermann made remarks in the same vein, and on April 15, CNN's Anderson Cooper said "It's hard to talk when you're teabagging." On the April 16 edition of The Daily Show, Jon Stewart played a montage of clips of MSNBC anchors using the "teabagging" terminology. In January 2010, Keith Olbermann stated "In short, in Scott Brown we have an irresponsible, homophobic, racist, reactionary, ex-nude model, teabagging supporter of violence against woman and against politicians with whom he disagrees. In any other time in our history, this man would have been laughed off the stage as an unqualified and a disaster in the making by the most conservative of conservatives. Instead, the commonwealth of Massachusetts is close to sending this bad joke to the Senate of the United States."
So those who support the tea party movement, know that if the liberals are "nuts" about "teabagging", you must be on the right track.

From the Left: Tea Party Fake
The Tea Party has been so successful this election year that Democrats are resorting to political trickery. We're shocked -- shocked! A day before the primary in the Florida governor's race, GOP candidate Rick Scott touted the endorsement of the "TEA Party." As it turns out, the "TEA Party" was a shell group set up by leftists and funded in part by Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL). The group ran its own candidates state-wide in an effort to siphon votes away from conservatives. "This is a new low for the fake political TEA party," said Tea Party activist Don Hensarling. But upon learning the real story, Scott rejected the endorsement -- and went on to win the primary against state Attorney General Bill McCollum. Similar Democrat political stunts have been uncovered in Nevada and Michigan, so be warned. Pure scum liberals...will stop at nothing.. ********************************************* FED UP
