Yadkin County, what is the matter with you? Not only are you dead set in your ways, but you are mean. Does it really matter what color skin people have? or who people choose to worship? I may not agree with everyone, but I definetly do not have the time to get upset with each individual for having different opinions. I am baffled that I was able to read a post about a church, the pastor and a town manager. Those are people's lives that you guys are just tossing around for what exactly, enertainment? And just so we are clear I do not expect to change anyone's mind, but I am hoping that you realize just because you're on the internet and have the ability to say anything, you don't always have to.

Yes this county is certainly special. You should have seen what these folks did to Kim Clark Phillips. She probably was the brightest tool in the shed but she tried and they crucified her, called her a woman of ill repute among the least of the things they called her. A friend of my parents wanted to put in for county manager and I was asked about it for my opinion. I asked why he wanted to be ruined. He couldnt believe what I said and then he looked for himself and moved on to greener pastures.

If you don't like it, simply walk away.
It is very narrow-minded to put all posters into one category, and not see the individuality of each. When you speak of "..all the people on here.." or "..the people here.."
you are included in that. There is no need to bring out the 'superiority papers'.

this website is sad and i hate that i ever was told of it, however it made me more aware of where i live and how others view someone do to their, lifestyle, race, religion etc. I was somewhat aware of some of things going on in this county but when everyone knows everyone and sees you on a regular basis and throws a hand up or cracks a smile, then goes home and gets on this site and slanders and degrades you, then you truely find out how fake, fonny, and hipocritacal people really are. I dont disagree with some of the topics or the comments, however when people start getting down right rude and start pointing fingers and calling names and putting down your family it becomes more of an issue and a whole other topic..

I posted what i posted for a reason!!!! But i have came to realize, it is a lost battle it seems like everyone knows eachother on this site and gangs up on people for voiceing their opinions. I am very secure with my life and how i chose to live and who i chose to spend it with I do realize that people do not agree with it and that is fine everyone has that right however, their was alot of hurtful and degrading things said to me in regards to me and my family that wasnt called for i dont hate any race and cant help who i fell in love with!! I was judged from the get go and defently sterotyped to be fat and ugly and sorry if i said anything out of the way but i snapped into defence mode to protect my feelings as well as my family..

I deleted what really wanted to say but I see that my point was taken anyway. Isn't it quite nonsensical though that cornbread as well as many other Christians seem to know so much about something they've never seen?
Like I said before, is living a lie really peaceful? If you actually believe the god of the Bible deserves any of your time, then YOU might be the one who needs psychological help.

Ok I know alot of you on here cant stand me, However i do believe in God and would like that to be known, but i was brought up to know not to talk about sex, religion or politics those to me are touchy subjects. I have relationship....totally different..kinda like when adam and eve walked with God in Genesis! Read it for yourself. Like I said I do not argue the Truth. God walked with adam and eve in the garden of eden before the fall of man. This God I love is Merciful, Loving, Kind, Just, Jealous, Fair, Alpha and Omega...and I aint no Jesus freak, I just know that God loved me enough to reach down to me...no one and pull me out of the pits of hell....out of the middle of the crack house and i have been clean since 2005 and I can only praise HIS HOLY NAME BECAUSE IT IS AND WAS NOT ME! IF I HAD MY WAY , I WOULD HAVE SMOKED MYSELF TO DEATH! LIVING IN YADKIN IM QUITE SURE YOU KNOW SOMEONE IN THAT SITUATION! IT NORMALLY ENDS IN DEATH OR INCARCERATION. Heathenism, this love you speak of is human love. God is jealous when we put other things or people before Him. I tried for years to get off of drugs..many rehabs...it wasnt until i went to a Christian womens home that God delivered me from crack. I never had withdrawals, never looked back! It was not me alone...It was God helping me. I do pick up my Bible read and understand what I read. It seems that you may read things out of context, and if we do that yes, it does appear that some things are contradicting. It is only when we read, pray and study that it all comes together and makes sense! Actually people make it harder than it really is! I am not being mean, but mythology is a whole different thing....The Bible has been around for many many years, yes written by men who were ordained and inspired by God Himself....Farthest thing from mythology!

I believe God saves and heals those who call out to him in faith. I have seen it happen and there is no explanation other than calling out to God and seeing miracles happen...I have had it happen to me, I have seen it happen to others, at different times and places, so I know without a doubt God is everywhere and in everything

sorry to correct you but you are wrong, and I have reasearch on Paul to prove that, yes, I have done a research study on Saul/Paul.
Saul persecuted Christians; and had an amazing revelation from God-- and became Paul. I sent you the scripture... YOU may want to check your facts.
It is not just my bibleIt is yours too but your are right it is my beloved.....I am so sad for you I truly am....I can't imagine the heartache you must have suffered.

How arrogant do you have to be to tell another human being that you feel sorry for them because they do not believe what you believe? Where are you Newday? Do you not see this for what it is? Do you finally see what I'm talking about?
And no, I'm not wrong. Paul wrote after the Gospels. He also never spoke of Jesus as a person who existed on this planet. If Jesus did exist, and the authors of the Gospels did in fact "walk with him," why are their stories so different? This is the word of god we're taking about. Why didn't they get it right?

If I have this correct many of the Gospels were written years after the actual events some of which were accounts of disciples written by other people. Also there is fact that certain Gospels were not admitted/cannonized by the Catholic Church. The main reason given was that the Gospels in question were written at a much later date than the rest of the accounts. A common time frame was 20 to 25 yrs after the death when some of the gospels were written. It would be hard under those conditions to end up with perfect stories and have them all straight.

Now that we've exposed the contradictions within the "word of god," lets see if we can find any within the laws of Nature, the only word of God.

Different people have different takes on things obviously. There was a gospel the Gospel of Mary that wasn't included just as LBB mentions. It depicted Mary in a quite different light. So why was it not included? Could it be a predominately male dominated society didn't want it so they labeled it a newer Gospel and not worthy of inclusion? Could it be because of when it was written or prejudice? I'm not so sure what you are trying to say Heathen I haven't kept up with this thread. Are you trying to say Jesus didn't exist? If that be the case I think you're stretching it really far. I think Jesus did exist and I think he was a very charismatic person and was made an example of--- as many people were on a Roman cross. If not divine he seemed almost possessed of a wisdom above the normal man of the day---perhaps a genius of that time. That isn't always something one needs to brag about so he had followers and was killed for his public presence. People were jealous of him and didn't like him at times even his very own---Judas. The whole story of Jesus is a testament to the types of people and their weaknesses as people are prone to avarice, jealousy and greed. Jesus' death exposed the weakness's of man and all of those events that happened-- the death and resurection whether good explanation is had or not was the very drama needed to send shock waves through a world that was simple in a time when people needed a savior and a hope that something better awaited. Whether or not you believe in the divine creation or evolution and by what power those things happened is totally up to how you are raised/learn to believe/rationalize to yourself etc, etc. I have my own version that I rationalize to myself as explanation but I don't stand out and say this couldn't be to anyone because the believing part is the greatest part. What you believe as long as you're happy with it is what its all about.
I'm happy I just wish Heathen were as happy and didn't feel he has to disprove other folks faiths because he has surmised its all a bunch of hooey. Its all a conglomeration you have to make sense of yourself. While I don't always agree with Heathen I can see he has devoted a lot of thought into what he believes and he has rationalized and thought through a great deal except for the largely unexplained events that created the first life, the universe, the planets and the chemicals from whence it all was born. That I have to say is beyond my comprehension but remains a fixation of wonderment to all mankind including myself. I merely explain all of it by one word and I am at peace with it that way. God. This way I have a way of putting myself on a geometric point and everything else is explained by its position around me as I can best understand it.

I just read your last post and I will address.
What is God to you and others is entirely different. Is God a person? or an entity and does he use words. Did he write the bible I think not. Its a collection thought to be the inspired works of people who were possessed by God or Godly notions. Were they predjudiced in their thoughts--more than likely as authors tried their best to explain their thoughts on him. You just read mine lets just say we all agree to say we dont know what God is, who he is and how to explain him? How then would you explain the universe and its stars, the rocks and chemicals in it that were responsible for evolution?
So what came first the chicken or the egg? The age old conundrum.

You see Heathen even as you write and believe you have not denied a maker and the laws of nature as being from something you describe as God.
Are we so different? I think not. History is full of holes but its history nevertheless your take on it and what it probably means makes it yours.

Wow! I am not from Yadkin county but have lived here for the past 10 years.
Here are my observations:
1. There are some great people here but if they do not know you they do not want to know you. sooo many clicks! They'll be friendly but they will not let you get but so close.
2. YC residents as a majority are only concerned with themselves. They want no taxes, no government, and for everyone to just leave them the hell alone.
3. Rush Limbaugh is not just a prophet but may actually be God.
4. The young and well educated people typically leave the county in search of jobs and a better life; what is left here is the bottom of barrel. It is a vicious cycle. Ignorance breeds more ignorance.
Many of you are thinking right now "this person should just leave YC if they dislike it so much." That is the common answer for anyone that goes against the grain around here. Please see my #1 comment.

Walks the Talk - you must have an inferiority complex. I do not think that I am better than anyone. I grew up hard farmed and paid my own way.
I started out by saying that I have met some great people. I did not say that everyone in YC was a certain way. I made a general observation that I beieve to be true.
Jumping on someone for an opion that does not fit "the mold" was something that I should have expected. By the way, I have lived in 4 other places across NC and have seen and experienced enough to know the difference.

Oh my, you have lived 4 other places across NC. lol.
Ya' know, of the 21 places I have lived across the COUNTRY, this one (Yadkin County, NC) is my least favorite. My 'observation' is that there are a lot of hypocrites.
But people who 'lump' ALL Yadkin residents together and call them 'bottom of the barrel' really wreaks of feeling superior.
